Abstract
Nowadays, the use of a behavior modifier in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is important, that is why the following project shows how to improve disruptive behaviors in a student with ASD. The objective of this study is to propose a system of activities based on token economy for the improvement of disruptive behaviors of a student with ASD in the classroom context of the 2nd year of high school of the Manuela Espejo Special Education Unit.
The research was developed from a qualitative approach, with a single case study methodology. Information was collected through the application of techniques and instruments such as interviews, observation and document analysis. The data obtained were analyzed by means of triangulation, which made it possible to identify the strengths and needs of the student.
Based on the needs identified, the intervention proposal was developed with the purpose of contributing to the improvement of the disruptive behaviors presented by the student in the classroom context. The proposal is a tool for the teacher, it is based on the token economy, it contains different activities aimed at improving disruptive behaviors and therefore learning, social skills and relationships and interaction with others.
