Abstract
This research is based on the diagnosis of the pre-professional practices carried out with the students of 1st and 2nd year of General Unified High School (BGU) of the "Eugenio Espejo" Educational Unit, during the period IS-2022. The objective of the study was to develop skills and abilities in the area of Cultural and Artistic Education (ECA) through Research-Creation as a methodological strategy; being this a methodology that subscribes to understand and contextualize art as a form or means of teaching. The research methodology responds to the qualitative approach; this allowed understanding the experiences obtained, in addition, techniques such as the survey and participant observation were used; and instruments such as the anecdotal record and the unstructured interview guide with the purpose of obtaining essential data of the research process; the subjects who participated in the research were 37 people. As a result, it is exposed that the application of the Research-Creation methodological strategy turned out to be a key component in the educational context of the ECA area, given that the students built and consolidated knowledge, and in turn, created an artistic product as evidence of the development of artistic skills and abilities. In this sense, it has been concluded that the Research-Creation had great pertinence and relevance in the educational and artistic field, since it allowed promoting and teaching through art; consequently, art, due to its magnitude, is a means to create and integrate new knowledge from multiple disciplines.
