Abstract
In this work the execution of a didactic sequence is proposed in which a series of activities is used to analyze the characteristics and difference between the myth and the legend, with the aim of encouraging reading and creation of their own texts in which capture creativity and imagination, also encourage the development of oral and written expression skills. The results obtained in the application of the didactic unit was that the objectives were met, the students were able to write their own myth and legend applying the characteristics in each of them, the cultural identity, customs and traditions of their parish. As a teacher and for the other Language and Literature colleagues, the focus should be on taking advantage of students' creativity and imagination, as well as encouraging collaborative work, and taking into account the affective part of the students.
