Abstract
The present investigation proposes the elaboration of a guide of didactic activities for the development of laterality in children from 4 to 5 years of the initial level 2 parallel "F" of the CEI "Rita Chávez de Muñoz", Cuenca-Ecuador. The research contemplates studying the face-to-face context; however, the proposed activities are intended to be applied in the face-to-face and virtual environment. Topics such as laterality and cognitive development in early childhood were considered as main theoretical references: Portellano (2005), García (2007), Ilbay (2012), among others. In addition, cerebral laterality was addressed Cantú et al. (2017) and Karolis et al. (2019), body laterality Bryden (2015), Reyes (2018) and Ferradas (2015), activities to develop laterality Mayolas et al. (2010) and Ferré et al. (2006), stages of laterality in relation to ages Ferré and Ferré (2013) and López (2010), phases of lateral development Duarte and Pérez (2020) and Sánchez (2018), types of laterality Sánchez (2018) and Martínez ( 2020). In the research, we worked with the socio-critical paradigm, following a qualitative, descriptive approach, with the Action-Research method. For this, a categorization table was designed for the development of the diagnostic phase, where techniques such as: participant observation and interview were used, in addition to the instruments: field diaries, checklist and question guide. For the evaluation, the format of the diagnostic phase instruments was used. Finally, the implementation of the activity guide strengthened the children's laterality and motivated them in their learning.
