Abstract
Fine motor skills are a fundamental pillar in the comprehensive development of children with intellectual disabilities. By strengthening the small muscles of the hands, hand-eye coordination is improved and learning, autonomy and social interaction are stimulated. This research focused on the development of fine motor skills of a student with intellectual disabilities in the fifth year of Basic General Education at the “San Juan de Jerusalem” school. The general objective is to propose a guide of recreational activities that contribute to the development of fine motor skills in a student with Intellectual Disability (ID) in the fifth year of Basic General Education at the ''San Juan de Jerusalem'' School in the 2023 school year. – 2024. The theoretical analysis addresses concepts about intellectual disability and fine motor skills. Furthermore, the study is designed through the interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach, using the single case study method. Techniques and instruments such as: observation (field diary, observation guide) and interviews (interview script) were used to collect information. With the results obtained, it was identified that the student has difficulty in fine motor skills, so it is pertinent to propose a guide to recreational activities, which is composed of several activities that will contribute to the development of fine motor skills. As the main conclusion, the research contributed with recreational activities that promote the active participation of the student, contributing to their progress in its development.
