Abstract
The research project was carried out with the purpose of implementing didactic strategies for the active participation of hearing impaired students in the second year of elementary school at the Claudio Neira Garzón Special Education Unit. To this end, it has been evidenced that students do not pay adequate attention at the time of virtual classes, which hinders the teaching-learning process and, therefore, they do not have an active participation in them. Due to this, the conceptual development of this project contains theoretical foundations related to active participation, hearing impairment and didactic strategies that help to enhance the participation of students in the development of classes. In order to carry out the project, a qualitative research was conducted, and different strategies were applied to collect the necessary data, such as participant observation, interview and case study. On the other hand, the instruments used were field diaries, questionnaires, observation guide, and interview guide, which helped us to identify the barriers that hinder student participation. For the design of the research proposal, didactic strategies related to images, pictograms and didactic material were proposed, with the purpose of promoting the active participation of each one of the students with hearing impairment.
