Abstract
The present research work was designed to determine the use of interactive methods in the teaching - learning process in the subject of Language and Literature to the students of the first International Baccalaureate of the Educational Unit "María Angélica Idrobo", located to the north from the city of Quito in the province of Pichincha. 25 BI students and 8 teachers from the aforementioned Area participated in this project. This research is descriptive, qualitative and documentary, since a brief questionnaire prepared by the author of this project, which consisted of 8 open-ended questions for students and teachers, was used as a research instrument. This tool allowed to collect relevant and pertinent information regarding the proposed topic to be analyzed. The results obtained allowed us to determine the frequency with which TIC are used in the teaching of Language and Literature and the positive impact they have on the learning process, as well as the scarce knowledge that Area teachers have about the handling of these new interactive methods and technological limitations. Among the results that stand out in this research is the importance of motivation in learning and how students perceive that stimulus, to take advantage of this situation this project raised some proposed solutions.
