Abstract
Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, education has had to change from face-to-face education to virtual education. For this reason, this research work is under the Didactic research line of curricular subjects and pedagogical practice. For this reason, a guide for school gardens is proposed for the development of Active Learning in students of the sixth year of Basic General Education, parallel A of the Ignacio Escandón Educational Unit. The problem arose from the observations made in the pre-professional practices in virtual mode that were recorded in the field diaries; At the same time, the interview applied to the professional tutor and a survey applied to the students, showed a vulnerability in the methodology used by the teacher in the teaching-learning process in the subject of Natural Sciences in Unit No. 1 Living beings. Based on this problem, the background reflects research both nationally and internationally, focused on how active learning is developed in the teaching-learning processes of Natural Sciences and how school gardens contribute to education. Therefore, the research had a qualitative approach, framed in a socio-critical paradigm, an action research design and descriptive in nature. The applied instruments and the triangulation of data yielded the results of the lack of innovative strategies in the subject of Natural Sciences. In conclusion, proposing a school garden guide generates a change from a traditional methodology to an active and practical learning that encourages collective, harmonious and experiential work inside and outside the classroom.
