Abstract
This project was developed at Isaac A. Chico School in the 9th year of General Basic Education parallel “A” and “B” with the aim of strengthening assertive communication and active listening, through the application of an educational intervention proposal to improve interpersonal relationships of 9th grade EGB students. The research problem responded to: How to improve the interpersonal relationships of 9th grade EGB students from strengthening their basic skills (assertive communication and active listening)? In addition, this study is solved from the review of several institutional documents, such as Institutional Educational Project (PEI), specifically in the Improvement Plan where it is evident the need to work the socio-affective aspect in adolescents, so that they improve their academic performance and social. On the other hand, this work is framed in the socio-critical paradigm, to transform an educational reality through the application of strategies, under the qualitative methodology. The research method used was a multiple case study, in which two educational realities are compared through the direct intervention of the researchers. Thus, the application, review and analysis of various information instruments and documentary sources, such as interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, observation guides and normative documents of the institution, have contributed to support and solution to the problem. Therefore, it is planned as a proposal "to design, apply and evaluate didactic strategies that strengthen the active listening and assertive communication of students to improve interpersonal relationships." These activities were evidenced in the matter of Natural Sciences.
