Investigación y memoria: hacer visible la historia singular en la trama institucional

Abstract

In this study we will share thoughts about Arte, memoria y proyectos en la construcción de subjetividad política de docentes en formación (Art, memory, and projects in the construction of political subjectivity of teachers in training), a project conducted at Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencias de la Educación of Universidad de Buenos Aires. We start from the premise that artistic experiences have the power to create political meanings about the social dimension. Probing into the recent history of military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983) plays a central role in education and teacher training. We will present an experience of action research and artistic intervention carried out at a teacher training college in Buenos Aires city, which had a strong institutional impact as it involved the case of a former student, who had been detained and disappeared. Art was central to the experience as it enabled an emotional, and powerful way of conveying the findings.
