Abstract
This project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a program of activities for the development of the critical level of reading comprehension in the students of the 7th year of Basic Education of the Ricardo Muñoz Chávez Educational Unit. The program of activities, CEA (Comprehension in Action) was applied during May 2021/June 2021. For the development of the research, the socio-critical paradigm with a mixed approach was selected. For the collection of information, the techniques used were observation, interview, survey, pre-test and post-test with their respective instruments. The main results obtained after data analysis and triangulation of information showed that there was a significant improvement in students in the critical level of reading comprehension. The result shows a beginning of the development of the critical level, so it is necessary to continue strengthening this level so that students can continue to refine their reading comprehension skills.
