Abstract
This article contains the results of the research work to elaborate a pedagogical proposal for the teaching of Mathematics using the Cañari Taptana and that allows to mainstream the training in the value of solidarity. Shows the validation exercise of the proposal applicable to the teaching of Mathematics and other disciplines. Write down the scope of the objective aimed at rescuing ancient calculation techniques used by the Cañari people. Through a qualitative approach and the application of instruments such as observation guides and participant opinion records of students and teachers, the validation of this pedagogical proposal is carried out, which links the teaching of Mathematics with one of the basic principles of ancestral Andean thought: solidarity. Among the results, the value of the Cañari Taptana is recognized as a generating element of interest, as an instrument that carries ancestral knowledge, which facilitates the learning of Mathematics.
