Abstract
Currently, the school system faces one of the great disadvantages in what learning is concerned, which is the demotivation of students in the area of literature. The present didactic sequence: the poetic text (we write poems), aims to create a proposal of fresh ideas for the production of poetic texts that encourage and help improve the style of personal writing based on contributions from different authors. The didactic sequence proposed is centered on the poetic text, with the objective of making the student responsible and empowering his / her own progress in learning, supporting himself / herself with the construction of ideas from previous knowledge in order to achieve meaningful learning. For this purpose, a series of sessions were proposed in which they sought to reflect on the teaching of poetry, to present their relationships, their analysis and to finish in the poetic production, but not as a final activity but as exercises that will allow learning during the process of creation and thus achieve significant learning.
