Abstract
Research shows that the importance of the development of Phonological Awareness (PA) in schools determines an appropriate foundation to introduce the world of reading and writing, which should be promoted by active and creative methodologies that encourage the continuous and meaningful progress of the student. For this reason, the purpose of this study entitled "Experimentation of the Montessori method for the development of Phonological Awareness in children from 6 to 7 years old in the Millennium Educational Unit "Francisco Febres Cordero", is to develop for the virtual classroom a system of activities supported by the Montessori method based on the principles for the development of Phonological Awareness. References to Ramos and Cuadrado; Rieder; Troncoso et al. and others are cited as theoretical references, which provide a basis for the importance of Phonological Awareness, a communication approach, educational clips and other topics of relevance to the research. The methodology used has a qualitative socio-critical approach, using anecdotal registers and the Prueba para la Evaluación de la Conciencia Fonológica (PECO) as instruments of data acquisition for the evaluation of the information collected on Phonological Awareness with emphasis on syllabic and phonemic omission. Finally, six technical data sheets are made, composed of videos on YouTube with Montessori activities and materials for the easy understanding of syllables and phonemes. In this way, the expert evaluation allows us to know if the proposal is viable or not in the case of application with students in the second year of primary school.
