Abstract
Experimental learning fosters and stimulates capacity development in students through practical exercises. The integration of virtual labs as a didactic resource is substantial for the teaching & learning of Natural Sciences since it provides access to a lab equipped both in infrastructure and in materials, contributing to the development of an efficient practice in this area. The current project proposes the use of virtual reality as a didactic resource to aid in the teaching & learning of plant cells in the tenth grade at Unidad Educativa Manuel J. Calle A documentary-type review is carried out, highlighting the contribution of different authors who base virtual reality as a resource that supports the process of teaching & learning process and the development of virtual labs for educational improvement. During this experimental study, a control group and an experimental group were selected at random. The study takes a mixed approach, employing techniques such as observation, questionnaires, interviews, pre-tests, and post-tests. After a diagnosis of the problem, the intervention proposal is presented using the ADDIE instructional approach. There is also a design phase for the creation of a virtual laboratory with subsequent implementation. The use of the laboratory in virtual reality increased the average of the experimental group after several classroom sessions in which students internalized theoretical concepts and explained them through practice, demonstrating the positive impact of virtual reality on learning processes.
