Abstract
The purpose of this project is to analyze the influence of a didactic guide as a tool to improve the teaching and learning process of chemistry concepts in third year students of parallel BGU "A" in Herlinda Toral Educational High School. To accomplish the proposal, the difficulties that students presented during chemistry classes in relation to the subject of hydrocarbon were first diagnosed through surveys, interviews and field diaries. In the same way, the influence of the didactic strategies used by the teacher during the teaching and learning process was determined, for which a synthesis of theoretical references was made. In addition, a pre-test questionnaire was applied and with the results obtained, a didactic guide was developed that allowed strengthening the learning process on the subject of hydrocarbons. Subsequently, the effectiveness of the applied proposal was evaluated through the implementation of a post-test questionnaire. Therefore, it was possible to appreciate that the strategy guide allows students to achieve the learning required in the National Curriculum, complying with the essential evaluation indicators. These indicators include the following concepts: the formation of hydrocarbons, their structure and the type of bond, in addition to their classification as alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and aromatics according to their chemical and physical properties.
