Abstract
The development of communication skills in students with ASD is a challenge for current education, especially if this teaching-learning process is carried out from a virtual modality, which many times teachers do not use methodologies that promote the development of these skills in a significant way Communication being a central axis for these students to interact with the people around them. Therefore, in the present work it was identified as a research question: How to develop communication skills of students with autism spectrum disorder at the Agustín Cueva Tamariz Educational Unit? To respond to this problem, the following general objective was set: Propose methodologies for the development of communication skills in these students. A search was carried out in different sources that allowed to theoretically substantiate this study. The research had a qualitative approach and was carried out through a multiple case study, made up of a group of 5 students with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition, techniques such as observation, interview, documentary analysis and analysis were selected. data triangulation that allowed the identification of barriers such as: lack of communication skills, little variety in teaching methodologies. Subsequently, the methodology based on the principles of the DUA was designed with fourteen activities, two for each communicative ability, with methodological strategies and varied resources; Although it was not applied, it allows giving a satisfactory assessment of it, since the proposal is participatory, inclusive and seeks to respond to the identified needs.
