Abstract
This research focuses on the stimulation of pre-writing in a 7-year-old student with Down syndrome, who presents difficulties in this stage. These difficulties arise from the lack of structuring of the teaching-learning process in this area and the few pre-writing exercises performed in the classroom. In correspondence with this problem, the question that guides this research is: How to stimulate pre-writing in a child with Down syndrome of the Special Educational Unit "Manuela Espejo"? In accordance with the research question, the following general objective is proposed: To propose a system of activities for the stimulation of pre-writing in a student with Down syndrome of the Special Educational Unit "Manuela Espejo". This work assumes pre-writing as a category of analysis, is based on the qualitative approach and uses the single case study as a method. For the development of this work, different research techniques were used, such as documentary review, participant observation and semi-structured interview. In accordance with the techniques employed, the instruments used were: the documentary review form, observation forms, field diaries and semi-structured interview scripts. The data obtained were analyzed by means of the triangulation technique and as a result of the analysis a system of activities is presented to structure the structure of the activities.
