Abstract
Currently, initial education in Ecuador faces several challenges and gaps, therefore, this text analyzes three categories: the insertion of women in the labor market, the analysis of Ecuadorian public policy and agency in childhood, with the aim of reflecting and critically analyzing the elements that are part of reforms and challenges of this educational level. Consequently, a qualitative research is carried out, based on 10 semi-structured interviews applied to 10 women (mothers) from the cantons of Azogues and Gualaceo, so that a triangulation of data is used, from the theoretical dimension and the collection of descriptive information. On this basis, perceptions and experiences are compiled that allude to the initial level as the core of the Educational System, since it is in charge of forming and educating critical, autonomous and proactive citizens, therefore, this study carried out the analysis of the Ecuadorian public policy as a tool towards educational change, eradicating imaginaries linked to the subordination of this age group in society.
