Abstract
In this research, Extended Reality is addressed; which includes Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality for learning cellular structure, and theoretical references on the use of Extended Reality, a system of activities and types of Multiple Intelligence for learning Biology are also analyzed. Likewise, the study is based on a mixed approach that uses various data collection techniques, such as participant observation, survey, interview, evaluative tests, in order to identify the pedagogical needs related to the learning of the cellular structure in 1st year of Unified General Baccalaureate parallel C of the Manuel J. Calle Educational Unit. In the diagnosis phase, it is evident that students have difficulties identifying the function played by each of the organelles in the cell; Also, they do not recognize their classification through images, which generates confusion between the concepts and therefore students are easily distracted in the classroom. A system of activities is designed using Extended Reality based on the types of Multiple Intelligences at the Baccalaureate level. By applying this system of activities there is an increase in the students' averages, from 4.03 to 8.30; In addition, the improvement of participation in the classroom is observed. Thus, the positive impact of Extended Reality on student learning has a valuable contribution to education in Ecuador.
