Abstract
The present proposal for the implementation of the didactic unit is aimed at the development of Emotional Intelligence, through the teaching-learning process of students of the seventh grade, parallel "C" of the School "Tarquino Idrobo", since it has been possible to evidence poor academic performance, low self-esteem and a certain degree of aggressiveness. The implementation consisted of three phases, the first that is the elaboration and enforcement of a test of Emotional Intelligence to the students, which allowed to verify flaws and potentialities. The second phase consisted in the planning of the didactic unit and finally its application and evaluation it allowed us to show the results achieved based on the proposed objectives. A change of attitude was achieved, to recognize their emotions, develop social skills, self-confidence in themselves, raise their self-esteem, improve academic performance as well as relationships among themselves and with others.
