Abstract
In the thesis titled “Multimedia Genially tool to strengthen the teaching-learning of reading and writing in second grade children, the low performance in reading and writing of second year students at the FAE School of Basic General Education is addressed. The objective of this research is to propose a guide of activities focused on the use of the digital tool Genially as a means for the development of reading and writing in the children of the second year of elementary school of the FAE School, in order to achieve an adequate development mediated with the use of ICT. The study takes an interpretive approach to understand the impact of Genially on teaching, using qualitative methods, including interviews, observations and literature analysis, to develop a teaching guide with Genially. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively, focusing on the experiences of teachers and students. A deep understanding of how Genially influences the teaching- learning process is sought, and data triangulation is emphasized to support conclusions. The study is descriptive and relies on Genially as a central research tool. In the theoretical framework of this thesis integrates various theoretical references such as Vygotsky's perspective and his Zone of Proximal Development, which highlights the importance of support in learning, and Constructivism, promoted by Piaget, which advocates active learning that will be addressed through the creation of content, facilitated by Genially as a collaborative tool to build knowledge together. The central proposal of the thesis is the teaching guide "Genially: A Door to Reading and Writing". The results have led to the creation of a teaching guide that represents an essential resource in the teaching-learning process of children. This guide, focused on the integration of the multimedia tool Genially, provides strategies and activities designed to stimulate student interest and participation in the development of literacy skills. Despite initial challenges, such as limited technological access, this proposal is expected to not only improve the literacy skills of FAE students, but also foster digital inclusion and educational equity. In conclusion, the use of digital platforms such as Genially in the teaching- learning process can contribute significantly to this process, and also allows classes to be more dynamic and entertaining, both for teachers and students.
