Abstract
The following record addresses the stimulation of oral language in a student with intellectual disabilities in the seventh year of EGB at the Manuela Espejo Specialized School, highlighting its importance for social interaction and understanding of ideas. To respond to this problem, different theoretical foundations related to oral language in children with intellectual disabilities, expressive language, receptive language and the activity system, which facilitated the search, were addressed. The methodology is based on an interpretive hermeneutic paradigm with a qualitative approach and with the method of a single case study, which is aimed at a student with intellectual disabilities. Also, the techniques that were used to carry out this research are the following: participant observation, documentary analysis and interviews. In this way, the observation guides, field diary, semi-structured interview guide and the documentary analysis guide are considered as instruments, which collect information from secondary sources that support this research. They are used to collect and understand data, and verified through the analysis of information from different perspectives to confirm its validity, in which it covers a category with several subcategories and variables that encompasses oral language. The problem detected reveals that the student faces difficulties in adequately stimulating his oral language, evidencing a limited vocabulary and difficulties in expressing his desires or opinions. In order to address these difficulties, a system of activities designed to stimulate the student's oral language has been developed. This system's main objective is to enhance both your expression and your understanding of language, through various activities designed to promote the process of oral language acquisition. Among the proposed activities, include riddles, stories, legends, fables, among others.
