Abstract
This research project covers the importance of ancestral knowledge, such as the mythology that is given through the orality in the different families from cultural communities. However, this knowledge can be applied in education, by integrating it with popular knowledge. Therefore, this work proposes a design of a methodological strategy, through diverse didactic resources in the areas of knowledge of Language and Literature of the Nationality and Spanish Language and Literature, which have been addressed to nineth grade students of General Basic Education. We begin with the community’s popular myth “Shakaim / The God of work”, which contains a teaching regarding ethical and moral values, combined with popular knowledge, such as reading comprehension. Parting from this ideas, ancestral knowledge has been recognized as an innovative method in the teaching-learning process. Therefore, this research is a research-action one, with a qualitative, quantitative and interpretive ethnographic approach, where the different specific methodological strategies allow to strengthen the ethical values and the Shuar worldview. For this, the research relied on : 1) The creation of teaching material based on the preferences of the students ; 2) Playful activities to awaken the interest of the students for the construction of their learning ; and 3) Linguistic and cultural strengthening through the myth “Shakaim / The God of work
