Abstract
The present degree work is based on a problem studied during the pre-professional practices developed in the COREL Educational Unit, in which the development of mathematical logical thinking was evidenced. From this problem, it is proposed to contribute to the development of the mathematical logical thinking of the fourth year EGB students of the COREL Educational Unit of the city of Cuenca, through the implementation of the game as a learning strategy during the development of multiplication. For this, the diagnosis of the state of development of mathematical logical thinking skills was carried out. Six class sessions based on game activities were designed and implemented as a multiplication learning strategy, to finally evaluate the results obtained after the implementation of the proposal. The methodology used was action research, with a socio-critical paradigm and a qualitative approach. Qualitative techniques such as interview and participant observation using the observation guide and the interview were used in the collection of information; completed with quantitative techniques such as performance tests and surveys. This study included the participation of all 18 students in the classroom and the tutor teacher. From the results obtained before and after the application of the proposal, through the diagnostic test and the final test, it was possible to show that the use of the game as a teaching strategy contributed to the development of the mathematical logical thinking of the fourth EGB students. The game allowed students to solve reasoning exercises, at the same time it favored the development of mathematical logical thinking and achieving skills with performance criteria set out in the compulsory curriculum for multiplication.
