Abstract
This research aimed to encourage motivation in the process of teaching language and literature learning in 10th year students of Basic General Education through Project Based Learning (ABP) as a method of teaching. To initiate the research process, it was necessary to question how to encourage motivation in the process of teaching language and literature learning in students? It was therefore appropriate to carry out a theoretical analysis covering the psychological components involved in education; how the cognitive development of the human being is considered over time; the role of motivation in the Learning Teaching Process (PEA); to base the PEA in language and literature; and to explain the teaching methods that have been managed in the subject. Similarly, for the collection of information, we worked with the Methodology of Participatory Action Research (IPA), which favoured the collection of data through techniques such as participant observation, guide of aerial observation, field diaries, documentary review, sociogram and application of a pre test and motivation test. The use of these techniques made it possible to visualize the work of the teacher by employing some teaching methods; Also, to observe the context of the classroom where it was found that the students are not sufficiently motivated to carry out activities, since they do not find it meaningful in their daily life. Therefore, the proposal of the school newspaper is proposed under the guidelines proposed by the Learning Based on Projects (ABP), as well as its relevance to the development of skills and writing skills. In conclusion, the activities that were formulated helped to change the motivation of the students, is there is a minimum variation of score between the results of the pre test with the post test.
