Abstract
The following project is guided with the objective of applying a didactic tool called escape room to strengthen the learning of Natural Sciences in block 3 Protection of nature in the students of the tenth year of basic education of the UE Luis Cordero, located in the province del Cañar in the city of Azogues. During the development of pre-professional practices, deficiencies have been diagnosed in the learning process of the subject of Natural Sciences related to the theme of environmental impacts, therefore, there is no assimilation of contents. It is proposed as a general objective: escape room as a didactic tool to strengthen the learning of Natural Sciences in the tenth year of EGB, UE Luis Cordero. In the research, a mixed methodology has been used, with a quasi-experimental approach, where two groups are handled: control and experimental. The tools to obtain the data are of a qualitative and quantitative nature, such as the survey, the interview and the observation guides. The sample of the investigation is 33 students of the tenth year of General Basic Education parallel D of the EU Luis Cordero. The theoretical bases of the application of a didactic tool called escape room is new in education, as mentioned by Tajuelo and Pinto, very good results have been seen where it has been applied, since it is projected to solve problems and challenges while advancing. level creates a better school environment, where the student feels a leading role. In addition, Nicholson points out that teamwork is needed to pass the levels, due to its degree of difficulty, it makes students develop critical thinking that not only benefits them in school but later in their personal lives. Based on this, a didactic tool focused on the escape room was proposed that had a previous teaching planning in the conceptual and the procedural was carried out in 10 challenges that were applied in each sub-theme of environmental impacts, finally, the evaluation. Through a quantitative intervention and qualitative triangulation, the effectiveness of the didactic tool in strengthening the learning of environmental impacts in the discipline of Natural Sciences is demonstrated.
