Abstract
The objective of this thesis is to promote study habits to improve the academic performance of students in the fourth grade "B", of the "Manuel de Echeandia" Basic Education School in the canton of Guaranda, Bolívar province, academic period 2017-2018. In the development a questionnaire on study habits was applied to the students and parents to determine the degree of study habits that the students possess, and based on this, build the didactic unit with a teaching methodology that helps to promote the habits of study in the students, and in this way to be a model for other educational institutions. Finally it corroborated that when the students acquire study habits these improve the academic performance the same as evidenced in the report cards.
