Abstract
The development of skills in the area of logical-mathematical relations in the first years of childhood is of great importance, since it helps children to develop cognitive processes, to understand mathematical concepts, that is, abstract and numerical reasoning and to relate them to everyday life problems. The present research carried out at CEI "Luis Cordero", evidenced the difficulties presented by infants when performing activities in the field of logical-mathematical relations. Therefore, the objective of this research is to propose didactic activities with recycled material for the performance of skills in this area in infants of the sub-level 2D from 4 to 5 years old, of the CEI "Luis Cordero" Cuenca -Ecuador. For this research we based ourselves on Piaget's theory in the pre-operational stage, Vygotsky's theory which allows us to work through social interaction between each of the members and the Ministry of Education of Ecuador because it took the skills of the Early Education curriculum. The study was developed through an action research with a qualitative approach, applying various techniques and instruments for data collection such as: teacher interview guide, observation guide, checklist applied to infants, allowing us to obtain a clear vision of the context studied. The main result of this research is that it was possible to improve the skills in the area of logical-mathematical relationships through the design of didactic activities with recycled material, in which it was evident that in the diagnostic phase all the infants were in the process of acquiring knowledge, demonstrating that the implementation of each of the activities the infants showed a significant change since they have acquired these skills. Generating new alternatives to work within the classroom, allowing the infant to create their learning in a creative and innovative way.
