Abstract
The construction of pre-occupational workshops for the development of executive functions (planning and working memory) in students with intellectual disabilities, aims to intervene, improve and transform educational practice oriented from the qualitative paradigm, and the research-action methodology, for this it was possible to characterize, evaluate and propose improvements around the reality of the pre-workshop classroom, composed of 3 students, with a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability. Now, this research work seeks to strengthen executive functions: working memory and planning, through the implementation of three pre-occupational workshops: kitchen, garden and art, which are guided by an active methodology and the organization proposed by the project Rome, thereby allowing, among other aspects, that this population is capable of generating objectives, developing a sequence of steps to achieve them through strategies that allow them to reach a goal. Similarly, it seeks that students store and execute instructions, control their attention, manage to relate previous knowledge with new information, store visual characteristics, among others, which will favor their autonomy and independence in different social and academic contexts and in daily life. Finally, this project seeks to become a theoretical and practical reference as a resource for analysis and production by other Educational Units, with new experiences that allow strengthening inclusive practices.
