Abstract
The objective of this research was to propose a counseling plan for updating the code of conduct, aimed at the director of the Intercultural Bilingual Community Educational Unit “El Pano”. To achieve this, a search for information and an analysis of the theoretical references that underpinned the developed work were conducted. The study was framed within the interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach and was classified as field research, as it was carried out in the place of study, allowing for a contextualized and detailed interpretation of the results. The selected method is the case study, which facilitated the understanding of the issue. Additionally, document review techniques and semi-structured interviews were used, designed to obtain open and detailed responses from directors and teachers. The application of the information collection techniques and tools was essential to obtain relevant and pertinent information, which allowed for a thorough diagnosis and a description of the institutional reality. There was evidence of poor knowledge of school coexistence, lack of advice on the processes and phases of the construction of the coexistence code, slight knowledge of the institutional diagnosis and lack of information on the criteria for school coexistence.
