Abstract
The present project aims at enriching the environment in early childhood education using innovative educational resources to strengthen the meaningful learning of infants from 3 to 5 years old. This project takes into account prior experiences gained in different educational institutions where our pre-service practices has been conducted, as well as the activities proposed to the families to carry out with the children at home. It is very important to know the diversity of contexts and teaching methods to propose educational resources. The early childhood education environment must be in constant movement and ready to innovate the teaching-learning processes, thus, the implementation of an innovative educational resource, namely, experimentation box, was designed according to the interests of children. This resource has been designed to work through pedagogical provocations and to promote free learning activities with children, who become main actors of the learning process. The project is based on the Reggio Emilia approach due to the importance given to children meaningful learning in interaction with the environment and the active role that the family plays in the teaching-learning process. In this sense, we consider that the box can also be used within the family environment with the support of the teaching staff to maintainthe interaction between the school and family. The methodology of the project is developed under a qualitative approach, to gain understanding of the context from an interpretative and naturalistic approach. The participatory action research has been chosen as a method to become active subjects within the research process and generate improvements with the participation of the educational community (infants, teachers and families). As a result of the activities and experiences obtained through the pedagogical provocations worked with the boys and girls, a pedagogical proposal has been designed. The latter proposal has collected the antecedents and importance of approaching to the experimentation box as an innovative educational resource that directly involves families within the educational environment, as activearticipants in the application of pedagogical provocations.
