Abstract
This research is designed to improve the development of oral expression in a student with intellectual disabilities, to contribute to their interaction in different contexts with society, thus improving their dependence and autonomy, the proposal arises from the exploration carried out in the 8th year of basic education B of the Special Educational Unit "Agustín Cueva Tamariz", located in the city of Cuenca. The unit of analysis was constituted by a student with a good language development, but with difficulties in the phonetic phonological component, since his speech on several occasions was misunderstood for presenting difficulties in some phonemes in addition to presenting continuous pauses in his speech. This research is located in a case study and the collection of information through interview guide to the speech therapist of the institution, professional tutor, parents and technical sheet, which through a methodological triangulation, allowed to conclude the status of the components of the study subject, as well as its potentialities and weaknesses therefore the creation of the proposal is proposed a guide of recreational activities to contribute to the development of oral expression, which aims to promote the development of oral expression of the study subject in addition to joint participation with the educational community.
