Abstract
Art education is a priority within Cuban educational policy, it is conceived as a system that encompasses all levels of education and aspires to artistic training from the integration of knowledge, which poses new challenges to the University to train competent artistic educators. The Cuban model includes an original strategy aimed at ensuring mastery of the languages of art, where the audiovisual has a special significance as it is the language that dominates the field of artistic expressions. This work describes the experience of the Bachelor of Arts Education at the University of Holguín, the limitations presented by its training and its main results are analyzed. It addresses the experience in research training which has encouraging results. Changes are exhibited in the conceptions of the teacher’s praxis of artistic education, demonstrating its relevance in the dynamics of the educator’s professionalization process.
