Abstract
This work is based on the following objective: to develop a didactic planning through the application of motivational strategies to promote the reading comprehension in the third year students of basic general education of the Atanasio Viteri School. A group of students of basic education in EcuaEcuador did not have levels of reading comprehension for the degree to which they correspond and after the application of motivational strategies in the process of reading comprehension, a significant increase was achieved in the number of students who are now able to properly decode the texts they read. Didactics and pedagogy, provide essential elements for our daily work in the educational field,but without the right motivation, factors such as different rhythms and styles of learning, are not enough to have the due role in the comprehensive student development.
