Abstract

This curricular integration work (ICT) focuses on the study of basic addition and subtraction operations within the thematic block "Algebra and functions". The research was carried out in an urban educational institution in Cuenca, province of Azuay, with a sample of 33 students, who showed significant errors and difficulties in these mathematical operations. Therefore, we have set ourselves the objective of enhancing the teaching-learning processes of addition and subtraction operations, with the aim of solving the identified problem. The theoretical framework is based on a review of national and international research, in addition to our main theoretical axes: Mathematics didactics, the teacher's role, curricular area, innovative methodological strategies and the playful environment. A qualitative approach and a socio-critical paradigm were adopted, using the action-research method. Various techniques were used to collect information, such as participant observation, semi-structured interviews, pedagogical diagnostic tests and documentary analysis. The tools included field diaries, interview scripts, questionnaires and guides for document analysis. Based on the data obtained, a playful environment was implemented through activities that motivate and facilitate the completion of addition and subtraction operations. The results showed a notable increase in the motivation and academic performance of the students, improving their understanding of mathematical concepts and their ability to solve problems effectively.

El presente trabajo de integración curricular (TIC) se enfoca en el estudio de las operaciones básicas de suma y resta dentro del bloque temático “Algebra y funciones”. La investigación fue realizo en una institución educativa urbana en Cuenca, provincia del Azuay, con una muestra de 33 estudiantes de, quienes mostraron errores y dificultades significativas en estas operaciones matemáticas. Por ello nos hemos planteado como objetivo potenciar los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las operaciones de suma y resta, con el objetivo de resolver la problemática identificada. El marco teórico se fundamenta en una revisión de investigaciones nacionales e internacionales, además, de nuestros principales ejes teóricos: Didáctica de la matemática, el rol docente, área curricular, estrategias metodológicas innovadoras y el ambiente lúdico. Se adoptó un enfoque cualitativo y un paradigma socio-crítico, empleando el método de investigación-acción. Se utilizaron diversas técnicas para la recopilación de información, como observación participante, entrevistas semiestructuradas, pruebas pedagógicas de diagnóstico y análisis documental. Las herramientas incluyeron diarios de campo, guiones de entrevista, cuestionarios y guías para el análisis de documentos. A partir de los datos obtenidos, se implementó un ambiente lúdico mediante actividades que motivan y facilitan la realización de operaciones de suma y resta. Los resultados demostraron un notable aumento en la motivación y rendimiento académico de los estudiantes, mejorando su comprensión de los conceptos matemáticos y su capacidad para resolver problemas de manera efectiva.
