Abstract
In this curricular integration research, the issue of teacher profiles in Bilingual Intercultural Education and its impact on the "ABC" and "Suscal" Intercultural Community Educational Units is addressed. In which they use a methodology with field design and a qualitative approach to obtaining data, with an intentional sample of 4 teachers, 2 from each institution. Hence, arriving at a more specific study through professional life stories with 4 of these teachers (2 for each participating institution), in order to compare said profiles, reaching in this way to a comparative-interpretative analysis. The features of the professional teaching profile for the research are the following: professional training, mastery of the ancestral Kichwa language, due to the fact that in the areas in which the research was carried out they are contexts of Kichwa culture, the adequate use of the Spanish language, professional training throughout the degree, years of teaching experience, knowledge of the MOSEIB, knowledge of the ancestral culture and community traditions, and others. To complete the qualitative data, direct observation of the teaching performance on specific behaviors was carried out. These included the use of didactic methodologies, resources and techniques used in the teaching-learning process, use of the Kichwa language inside and outside the classroom, the integration of basic general knowledge areas with ancestral knowledge and implementation of the Kichwa Bilingual Intercultural Education System Model. The objective of this study is to comparatively determine the professional teaching profiles in the UECIB "ABC" and "Suscal", in contrast to the Teaching Performance Quality Standards (2012) and the UNAE graduation profile, due to the fact that it promotes methodologies innovative in EIB, in order to offer recommendations for the pedagogical training of the teacher of Bilingual Intercultural Education.
