Abstract
This research project aims to use children's literature as a didactic strategy to strengthen the teaching-learning processes, stimulating social, emotional and cognitive development in infants. This is how activities were developed through: poetry, strings and riddles to consolidate the learning of infants from Initial 2 "A" of the School of Basic Education "San Francisco de Peleusi de Azogues". This work has a theoretical basis that exposes the benefits and importance of children's literature in childhood. The methodology used in the research has a qualitative approach, which seeks to know the reality of infants, establishing dialogues and relationships that allow evidence of reactions to the application of the proposal. The planned activities were characterized by being attractive and fun for both the teacher and the boys and girls, who actively participated in each one of them. The application was made at the time of consolidation of the pedagogical day, after various activities and skills developed by the teacher, in a closing or reinforcement manner. After the application of the proposal, positive results were obtained in the students such as: knowing and using literary resources, developing critical thinking, promoting interaction among classmates, stimulating language and reinforcing the knowledge acquired throughout the day. The use of poetry, string, and riddle generated significant learning in children, using children's literature to address curricular content and strengthen learning experiences.
