Abstract
The research was carried out with a group of 144 Ecuadorian teachers who participated in the training of the course ‘The use of GeoGebra in the teaching and learning of mathematics in basic education’. The study approach was a mixed exploratory sequence. The objective was to explore the challenges and opportunities that Ecuadorian teachers face when they apply GeoGebra as a didactic resource for the teaching-learning of mathematics during the pandemic. The results show that among the challenges that teachers have faced in the Covid-19 pandemic and the use of GeoGebra in the classroom were: the digital gap in the educational sector (lack of access to technological equipment, the internet, and others), followed by the lack of teacher training on the use of GeoGebra). Among the opportunities that teachers have seen in the use of GeoGebra, they respond to the potential of the software in the teaching-learning of mathematics that are related to a dynamic, innovative, interactive tool that is easy to use by users.
