Abstract
This research focuses on making a bibliographic review on the TEACCH method to strengthen literacy in students with ASD in the 6th grade of basic education belonging to the Agustín Cueva Tamariz Educational Unit, based on this problem, the general objective is to propose the TEACCH method to contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of reading and writing of students with ASD of the 6th grade of basic education of the Agustín Cueva Tamariz Educational Unit. This proposal maintains a theoretical foundation from the background to the description of the TEACCH method. This research is developed from the interpretive-hermeneutical paradigm, in addition, the multiple case study methodology is applied, because we are talking about the children who make up the 6th grade and the classroom teacher. Techniques were selected such as: documentary review, participant observation, interview, whose results were triangulated; which demonstrated the need to project the use of the TEACCH method for the adequate development of the teaching-learning process of literacy in children with ASD.
