Abstract
The research seeks to improve learning in Physics, specifically in waves and sound, with students in the third year of high school at the “Roberto Rodas” Educational Unit. Framed in a socio-critical paradigm and with a mixed approach, the research applies pretest, posttest and surveys to evaluate its impact. With a quasi-experimental design, we work with parallels A and B, where one group acts as control and the other as experimental. Laboratory guides are implemented for practical activities in alternative spaces, such as natural or field laboratories, fostering student motivation and interest. The study begins with a review of sources on learning about waves and sound, followed by a diagnostic assessment to identify students' prior knowledge. From these results, laboratory guides are developed to address the difficulties observed in the classroom. The implementation of the proposal evidenced a significant improvement in learning, showing positive results compared to the initial diagnostic test. Students demonstrated a better understanding of the concepts and a greater ability to solve problems, which underscores the effectiveness of practical experimentation in the educational process.
