Abstract
The research addresses the problems observed during pre-professional internships in an educational institution in Cuenca. In these internships, it was detected that Language and Literature classes were disconnected from other areas of knowledge, thus limiting the development of skills and meaningful learning of students. The general objective is to determine how skills are developed with performance criteria in the area of Language and Literature from an interdisciplinary approach in the Seventh Year of General Basic Education. For this purpose, the methodology is described starting from the socio-critical paradigm with a qualitative approach through action research with the techniques and instruments of data collection such as participant observation, interviews, field diaries, observation guide and analysis of documents that help to collect and analyze data. The research proposes a solution through the implementation of an interdisciplinary proposal for the integration of content and collaboration between different areas of knowledge. The results of the research were satisfactory because the students complied with the development of skills with performance criteria with an interdisciplinary approach in the different areas proposed. The conclusions and recommendations emphasize the need to continue exploring and applying interdisciplinary approaches in the educational curriculum to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the school context.
