Also, Piaget's cognitive theory was approached in artistic expression for the development of communicative skills. The Early Education curriculum in the Artistic Expression Area and artistic expression as a means of communication in children from 4 to 5 years of age were other topics to be addressed based on several authors. In the same way, the research was developed under the socio-critical paradigm in a qualitative approach, through action research, of an applied type. In addition, the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the information units were analyzed. Through this, a matrix of operationalizations of the categories, subcategories and diagnostic indicators was proposed, about artistic expression for the development of communicative skills. In this way, techniques (participant observation, semi-structured interview) and instruments (field diaries, observation sheets and interview guide) were designed and applied to collect valuable information. From this, an analysis of the information was carried out, resulting in the importance of artistic expression for the development of communication skills. With these results, a system of activities called "Creating is my way of communicating" was designed and implemented. Once the activities were applied, the process was evaluated, resulting in the child communicating their ideas, thoughts, experiences and emotions through different materials and artistic strategies, in addition to encouraging the child to create, experiment and explore the environment that surrounds them.
