Abstract
This document develops an in-depth look at the processes of interaction between seventh-year students of Basic General Education of the Luis Cordero Crespo school in the city of Cuenca. It emphasizes the role of the various school actors - such as students, teachers and families - in the construction of gender relations and the dynamics that arise from them. This research seeks to know how these relationships are built in the particular context of an institution that until five years ago was only for boys, as well as to make visible the impact that these relationships can have on school dynamics. The document addresses various theoretical sources attached to our research such as the studies conducted by Lamas, 2000; Scott, 1940; Rockwell, 2018; Conell, 2001, among others. The analysis of our data allows us to open questions about the gender perspective in the school context and unravel the ways in which every day within the school a variety of practices and speeches that influence the construction of student identity are produced and reproduced. Likewise, it gives us an approximation to social discourses that dispute the senses about what is considered desirable and appropriate for each of the genders, as well as for the relationships that they establish among themselves.
