Abstract
Academic performance is considered, as an indicator of learning achieved by the student, as a reference of compliance in relation to the objectives established in the study program; This research is descriptive because it is related to the achievement of the research objective, since it will allow knowing the situations or conflicts in relation to the variables under study such as: the study techniques of students and their influence on performance academic, for what is needed the exact description of the activities and process that involve the investigation; In addition, a survey was applied that includes 33 Items and that measures 6 aspects among which can be mentioned: place, table, chair, study table, time and way of work, the same ones that deal with study techniques, which are dichotomous ; the same one that is used by the Orientation Department of the Jovellanos Royal Institute of Secondary Education.
