Abstract
The study is focused in the impact of biomimicry on the teaching of Genetics at the Juan Bautista Vásquez High School, aiming to strengthen the understanding of genetics through biomimetic approaches, which are fundamental for the intellectual and scientific development of students. Additionally, this study examines the implementation of these strategies in the classroom and their influence on the learning process, along with the development of innovative educational tools, such as genetic chess and nature-inspired stories, to enhance the understanding of genetics. A study was conducted with 62 students divided into two groups, experimental group, and control group, using questionnaires and standardized assessments to measure their progress. Preliminary results indicate a significant improvement in the understanding of genetics in the experimental group, as well as an increase in the students' interest and curiosity about this topic, highlighting the connection between science and nature. To further advance this study, it is suggested to conduct more research on the application of biomimicry in genetics education, focusing on its potential to improve learning and foster respect for science and the environment, considering that sample size and study duration may be considered as limitations
