Abstract
The present research focuses on exploring gross motor skills in people with moderate intellectual disability, analyzing the difficulties that this condition presents in motor development. The objective of this study is to propose an activity guide for the development of gross motor skills in a student with moderate intellectual disability in the Tenth Year of EGB in the subject of Physical Education, at the Agustín Cueva Tamariz Specialized Educational Unit. Likewise, a review of the theoretical foundation of the condition that is intellectual disability (ID) and also of the analysis category that is gross motor skills was carried out. Likewise, the study used an interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach and the single case study method was used. For data analysis, adequate triangulation of information was carried out, which allowed the student's strengths and weaknesses to be identified. The proposal of this research is to create an activity guide titled “I walk with you,” which includes sixteen activities in total: eight are to strengthen static body control and eight are to strengthen dynamic body control of gross motor skills. Subsequently, the proposal was partially applied, obtaining positive results that highlighted the importance of teacher motivation and an appropriate environment when teaching Physical Education classes. Finally, the guide was validated by specialists, who suggested minor adjustments, confirming its relevance and adaptation to the problem addressed.
