Implementación de la plataforma “LMS-Nearpod” para la enseñanza- aprendizaje de Biología en Tercero de Bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa “Herlinda Toral”

Abstract
The objective of this degree project is to study the effect of the LMS platform Nearpod in the teaching-learning process of Biology in the subject of Biomes of the world, in the third year of General Unified High School of the Herlinda Toral Educational Unit of the city of Cuenca, because the classes were developed in a magisterial way causing little learning and low interest in students, that is, the teaching strategy was based solely on the dictation and transcription of the subject. For which it was necessary to address variables that allow a broader perspective that can adequately define education, teaching-learning, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in addition to the use and management of Learning Management System (LMS) platforms. The methodology applied was based on a socio-critical paradigm with a mixed approach, applied to a sample of 35 students and a teacher assigned to parallel "C". The main techniques used were ethnography, survey and interview, which were used before and after the application of the proposal. The latter consisted of the use and management of the different tools provided by the aforementioned application. The main results were that the students learned about the LMS Nearpod platform, showed interest in the subject, participated actively and achieved significant learning regarding the topic of Biomes. This allows us to conclude that the implementation of the LMS Nearpod platform contributes to the teaching-learning process in the area of Biology.
