Abstract
The following work aims to awaken in the students of the Eighth Year of the Educational Unit of the Millennium "Cochasquí" 2017-2018 school year interest in reading, since based on certain indicators show us the lack of interest that students have to read , for which in different class sessions various strategies were implemented that motivated the student to strengthen the reading habit, because it is essential that the human being knows how to read in order to obtain new knowledge, expand his vocabulary, allowing him to solve problems of daily life. The proposed strategies were positive since there was a better relationship between the teacher and the student. In addition, technology was used in a dynamic way that managed to attract the attention of the students. The reading habit can be strengthened when the necessary guidelines are given to the student in the classrooms to begin the fascinating path of reading.
