Abstract
The understanding of Mathematics constitutes an important process for the development of skills such as logical-mathematical thinking and the understanding of other branches of science such as Physics, Chemistry or Biology. For this reason, the implementation of new innovative educational techniques constitutes a fundamental component for the efficient acquisition of new information. For this reason, the present work has as its main objective to analyze gamification as a reinforcement strategy in learning the empowerment of rational numbers in the ninth grades of the Luis Cordero Educational Unit. To fulfill this proposed purpose, it has been decided to follow a research methodology based on the interpretative paradigm, of a quasi-experimental design mediated by a mixed approach, and following these parameters, the ninth B with 39 students is designated as the group experimental. , and the ninth A of 37 students as a control group. When analyzing the results obtained from the two conglomerates of students, already mentioned, a marked differentiation is obtained in terms of academic performance in the subject of empowerment of rational numbers by the group exposed to gamification, since they show an improvement in the understanding of the process.
